Today, we’re excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at the development of one of our Virtual Reality experiences, the one designed for mathematics.
We believe that the creative process plays a fundamental role in the development of interactive experiences, especially in immersive environments like VR. Every small detail involves a complex design process, and we want to highlight the craftsmanship behind it.
In this case, we will walk through the design of a futuristic spaceship interior, which serves as the setting where students interact with geometric shapes from a fully three-dimensional perspective.
Below, you will find images from different stages of development, including both the interior of the spaceship and the futuristic city visible through its panoramic window.
We hope you find it interesting.
INTERIOR OF THE SPACESHIP (Player’s performance space)
First phase of Development:
Initial composition sketch (including the interior of the ship where the player will be located, and the exterior visible from the panoramic window (futuristic city).

Second phase of Development:
Final graphic sketch of the composition (including the interior of the ship where the player will be located and the exterior visible from the window (futuristic city) as well as one of the geometric elements to be analysed and of the information screens (side panels).

Third phase of Development:
Composition based on preliminary sketches of the interior of the ship, on the futuristic city, in which the volumetry and the light of the scene was analysed, as well as the viability of the 3D interface.

Fourth phase of Development:
First 3D render made on the preliminary sketches of the interior of the ship where the player will be located with the geometric shape and the information panels with the exterior visible from the window (futuristic city).

Fifth phase of Development:
Final development of the Geometry App, with complete graphic elements (textures, shadows, colors and lights) as well as gameplay elements (panel info, camera movements, active commands, etc.)activos, etc..)

SPACESHIP EXTERIOR – FUTURISTIC CITY
First phase of development:
Preliminary draft design of the futuristic city – background of the app -that can be seen from the window.

Final Development:
Complete image of the futuristic city (including volumes, textures, colours and lighting) visible from the window of the ship where the action takes place.
