Face to face Day 4 – Reflection and Next Steps

The final day of the VIRION Face-to-Face Training, held on April 18, 2024, was dedicated to consolidating the progress achieved during the week and laying the groundwork for the next steps in the project. The day began with a session on the importance of data collection, where participants reviewed the tools and methods that will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the VR applications. Surveys and interviews designed to capture feedback from students and teachers were discussed to ensure consistency and meaningful results across all partner schools.

Discussions also touched on dissemination efforts, with a focus on ensuring the project’s findings and resources reach a wide audience. Participants briefly explored opportunities to collaborate and share materials on platforms like eTwinning, helping extend the impact of the project beyond the immediate participating schools.

In the afternoon, attendees reflected on their experiences throughout the training, sharing key insights and strategies for integrating VR tools into their classrooms. This collaborative session provided an opportunity to address remaining questions and finalize plans for the piloting phase.

The day concluded with heartfelt thanks to all participants for their dedication and enthusiasm, marking the end of a productive and inspiring week of learning and collaboration.

The teachers expressed a highly positive attitude toward this technology and emphasized the importance of integrating Virtual Reality into education. Among their statements, Eva Engel highlighted that students must “learn how to handle Virtual Reality because it will be part of their everyday life.” Nele Kaestner pointed out that VIRION enables students to connect with their studies in innovative ways, beyond traditional textbooks. Similarly, Carlos from La Arboleda secondary school described it as “an innovative project that embraces gamification as a teaching method.” Their insights underscore the value of immersive technologies in transforming learning and better preparing students for the digital age.

The VIRION team now looks forward to the next stage, confident in the collective effort to bring innovative STEM education to classrooms across Europe. Stay tuned for updates as we continue this exciting journey!
