Starting the VIRION Pilot Phase: Testing VR in Spanish Schools

We are excited to begin testing the VIRION VR software, starting in Spain. This marks the beginning of a key phase in the project, where students and teachers will explore how this technology supports learning in STEM subjects. Over the course of the pilot, the software will be introduced in four countries, 12 schools, and will involve nearly 600 students. students. This phase is the culmination of months of development and collaboration, and it marks a significant step toward bringing innovative learning tools into classrooms.

In this pilot phase, students are exploring how VIRION’s VR applications can enhance their understanding of STEM subjects. Guided by their teachers—who have been trained in the use of this technology by our partner Premium Cine—the students are engaging with cutting-edge tools that make complex concepts in science, technology, and mathematics more accessible and interactive.

Today, we’re share some highlights from our session at IES La Sisla in Toledo, Spain. Students there have had their first experiences with the VR software, navigating immersive environments that allow them to visualize and interact with STEM concepts in ways traditional methods cannot match. These sessions have been met with enthusiasm, as students discover new ways to learn and teachers observe how these tools transform the classroom dynamic.

The pilot phase is not only about testing the software but also about collecting feedback from both students and educators to refine and improve the experience. This collaborative effort ensures that the tools developed through the VIRION project are impactful, user-friendly, and adaptable to various educational settings.
As we expand this phase to other schools across Europe, we’ll continue to share updates, photos, and stories from the classrooms.
