VIRION Featured in Spanish News Agency Servimedia

Our team recently spoke with the Spanish news agency Servimedia to share insights about the VIRION project and its innovative use of Virtual Reality (VR) to improve STEM education for students aged 14 to 16. The article highlighted the project’s objectives, methodology, and ongoing testing phase, providing a closer look at how it’s making an impact.
As detailed in the article, around 150 secondary school students from Spain have already interacted with four VR modules developed by the VIRION team. These modules focus on subjects such as Geometry in Mathematics, Magnetic Fields in Physics, the Periodic Table in Chemistry, and Cellular Biology. Testing is currently underway in schools like IES La Sisla (Sonseca, Toledo), IES Margarita Salas (Majadahonda, Madrid), and IES La Arboleda (Alcorcón, Madrid), as well as in participating schools in Germany, Finland, and Bulgaria.
The VIRION project not only aims to improve academic performance in STEM subjects but also fosters scientific and technological vocations, particularly among girls. The materials and methodologies developed during the project will be made freely accessible through a dedicated web portal, enabling educators and administrators to adopt these tools widely. Additionally, a White Paper on Best Practices for integrating VR into education will be published, providing valuable guidance for schools and policymakers.
