This White Book presents the most relevant findings of the VIRION – Virtual Reality Applied to School Education project, an initiative that explores the potential of virtual reality as an innovative tool for teaching and learning in STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
Its main objective is to provide a clear, concise, and practical resource that addresses key questions such as: How can virtual reality be integrated into education? What are its benefits and challenges? What methodologies and tools can support its implementation for teachers and students?
In addition, the document includes recommendations and user guides, along with a detailed explanation of the applied methodology and an analysis of the results obtained during the pilot sessions conducted in educational centers.
This document is intended for the entire educational community, serving as a guide for teachers, education administrators, and policymakers looking for effective strategies to advance the digitalization of education. It is also a useful reference for technology companies interested in developing innovative educational content, fostering collaboration between education and technology. The book includes examples of lesson plans specifically created for this project, developed in collaboration with teachers who implemented virtual reality technology and the software developed as part of this initiative in their classrooms.
